Entry-level Style models can be outfitted with a 1.0-litre, 83bhp three-cylinder petrol, with step-up Zetec versions starting with a more potent 98bhp 1.0-litre. Putting the load-lugging Estate and crossover-influenced Active to one side, the mainstream Focus line-up currently consists of five petrol variants and three diesels. So exactly how good is it to drive? Ford Focus engine line-up and trim levels This, therefore, ought to mark a dynamic step-change for the Focus MkIV model line. ![]() In this case, under the bonnet is Ford’s line-topping 180bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol three-pot engine at the rear axle you’ll find the Focus’s more sophisticated suspension option, the acclaimed ‘control blade’ independent set-up and above that there are the 18in alloy wheels that come as standard with ST-Line X cars and optional ‘continuously controlled’ adaptive dampers. But what about its soul? Although we’ve had to wait longer than anticipated to do it, this week we’ve got an example of the car in its most promisingly dynamic mechanical specification (until that new ST arrives, of course) with which to assess exactly how sporty and involving the segment’s most driver-focused hatchback can be in its latest form. Even in a major model replacement year, the car retained its top-five overall sales status in the UK market in 2018 (only narrowly missing out on the top three) and looks on course to take up a top-10 berth among Europe’s most popular new cars in 2019.įord should be cautiously happy, then, about the health of its big-selling family hatchback. Note that you can put whatever drive letters you have in there. For example, you could have the D: drive be responsible for System Restore for the C: drive. One, you can set a max size for the System Restore to get. That got me back lots of space back on my C: drive.Īlternatively, you can use the vssadmin tool from an admin command prompt to to do important things. Now, the EASIEST way to handle this is just to run Disk Cleanup, then click More Options and "Clean up…" which will delete all but the most recent System Restore data. It uses a service/subsystem called ShadowCopies and can be administered with a tool called vssadmin. Clean up System Restore - Vista keeps backups of lots of system files every time something major (driver installation, some software installations, etc) happens, and after a while this can take up lots of space.I'm sure you'll be surprised and get lots back. If it DOES remove the folder, just "md temp" to get it back fresh and empty. It usually doesn't because almost always some other program has a temp file open and the command can't get remove everything. Next, I do a "dir temp" to see if the folder really got deleted. If it screws up your computer, don't email me. If you feel in over your head, don't do it. If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. " and type "rd /s temp"ĭo be warned, this command says to TRY to delete the whole folder and everything underneath it. Open up an administrative console, type "cd /d %TEMP%" (without the quotes, of course). I recommend you try to delete the TEMP folder. %TEMP% Files - Even though Disk Cleanup is great, sometimes for whatever reason it doesn't get stuff out of the TEMP folder. From an administrative command prompt, type "powercfg -h off" to get that space back. ![]() Plus, I have 8 gigs of RAM, and hibernation uses as much disk space as you have RAM. ![]()
![]() I am mostly fascinated that the developers made this, made a vast shell of a world-and not as a walking simulator. And with the demo ending at unlocking airships, maybe travel will get friendlier in the full game? (I ache for supernatural powers of leaping and gliding.) Halfway through the demo, I didn't think I'd be looking forward to the full game, but I am. I like that objectives are quietly contained within letters we find, with no quest list or makers. I want to reach actual cities, not just the outskirts available in the demo. I like the look of the world, somewhere between Bloodborne's Yharnham, Dishonored's Dunwall, and Warhammer 40K's whole deal. While I assume our man is dead or dying or it's a dream, I am still curious about what's going on in the world he perceives-whatever that world is, whatever he is. And the aggressive level-of-detail pop-in is unfortunate in a game that's so much about slowly approaching giant things. Also the floaty camera movement is weird. This misguided moment of exploration took several whole minutes while I muttered about how ridiculous this was. Though the fence looked to have enough space for a person to squeeze through, I had to loop all the way back round. Rather than again struggle with finnicky movement to scale a bumpy ramp leading to the other side of a broken raised walkway, I figured I could likely just walk on the grass and find another way into the tower where my goal lay. At one point I missed an item I needed, and had to turn back, then return. The only 'puzzle' in the demo is finding fuses to fix a lift. But the pace and distance can get frustrating in a game that needs you to complete objectives to advance the plot. As a fan of walking simulators, I do find that freedom quite satisfying. At this point, I've seen no suggestion that the game rewards this in any way beyond the satisfaction of doing it. You can also run into the woods towards distant vast buildings where grow mere pixels taller as you hold W for minutes. (Speaking of: I was curious about how slowly the pedals turn, so I ran the numbers and our man pedals full-pelt at a knee-annhilating 24rpm.) But you can, if you want, scale 34 floors of a spiral staircase up a spire rather than take the lift. Even the 'quike' four-wheeled bicycles you can ride around some places are slow. You walk slowly, you jump lowly, and the distances are farly. A game for fans of looking up at big things.Įxploration is slow. I've little interest in the whole 'I love my missing wife' thing but I like the mood. It does feel a bit like a Kafka or Borges story to me, with our man increasingly lost and confused in a surreal city he no longer recognises, tormented by strangers who either know everything about him or don't even recognise his presence, and caught in events he doesn't understand. No, I don't think it's Attack On Titan, though I would be delighted by that twist. Something happened, and the cities now stand empty, forbidden, forgotten, fabled. Our fella is returning home after 17 years on the trail of his missing wife. It's a mighty impressive look, and and absolutely the reason I tried the demo. The Silent Swan is set around two cities within a vast wall. ![]() While on his knees, Jack flat-out begs the cockroaches to save his cousin in "The World Underneath".Aerith and Bob: There are characters with names like Jack, Joey and.Acrophobic Bird: Running on Rule of Funny, if Oggy is simply chasing the cockroaches, they won't fly to escape him, but if Oggy chases the cockroaches over a cliff, they will fly to laugh at Oggy's peril.Absurdly Long Stairway: The staircase in Oggy's house usually appears to be not just long but full of twists and turns. This time, Oggy now has to take care of an elephant named Piya but still has to deal with his mischievous rivals. The project program and the schematic drawings are scrutinized for possible errors or omissions. The schematic drawings-floor plans, site plans and building elevations-are reviewed and refined for functionality, usability, required adjacencies, code compliance, security, safety and aesthetics. It provides control strategies for all equipment and systems relating to building services such as security and fire alarms and defines the technical requirements for phones, data, cable and audio-visual needs. Schematic design includes a complete description of building systems (structural, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and electrical), interior and exterior finishes and the building site. In schematic design, the project team determines the areas, physical requirements and relationships of all the required building spaces and components, then confirms or revises the total building square footage and the total project budget, as well as the project schedule and occupancy dates. The purpose of schematic design is to translate the project program into physical drawings of space. ![]() What’s worse: fumbling with a bulky ring of keys, or losing them altogether?
